just heard from our friend John O’Brien (S-n-G to you unwashed heathens) who reports that some little cretin from New Jersey has been trying to hack into his gCaptain account surreptitiously but getting blocked by our benevolent overlords (thanks for looking out for us there Mike)
Now who would do such a dirty rotten thing to such an esteemed member of our fine fraternity of mariners? John thought a KP’er to be behind this underhanded ploy but I would expect them to come gunning for me. I can well imagine the price on my head in Wiley Hall and at the USMMAAA? Gotta be in the three figure range!
Is that why i’ve been having trouble logging on? It keeps telling me after one attempt to log on that i’ve used up all of my login attempts. I know i’m entering my user name and password correctly but no dice none the less. I’m writing this from my phone, which is always logged in to gCaptain, but I am still not able to log in via my lap top.
gcaptain just let me come through the front door and log on for the first time in a couple days, but some threads still come up 404. It looks like its taking them awhile to get the bugs out.
I was blocked on Friday. Sent an email, and Mike responded. Was able to log on after that once, but this is the first time it has let me back in since then.
I had the same problem Friday night. Sent an email in, and Mike responded that they had moved, and were still working out the bugs.
I was able to log on later Friday night, but then not again until now.
Ah, the growing pains. Part of the cost of success!

Finally able to log back in on my laptop. Thank god.
By the way C.Cap, just out of pure, simple, innocent, curiosity, is that an up to date picture of yourself? You look great for 89! It’s so nice of Uncle Sam’s Confused Group to take pity and let you keep sailing at your age. They really can be a sweet a bunch from time to time, can’t they? Bunch o’ softies!
