Entry Level MMC Exam

Hello,

I was wondering whether or not the Entry Level MMC (National): Ordinary Seaman, Wiper, and Steward (Food Handler) requires me to take an exam at my USCG Regional Exam Center.

Thanks.

Nope.
Try USCG NMC website for more thorough info on which ratings you will test for.

Apprecite it,

There are no tests for those entry level positions.

TWIC
Drug Test
Physical (CG 719K)
Completed Application
Payment

Off the top of my head the above items are needed to get an entry level MMC.

Technically, you don’t need a full physical (Form CG-719K) for an entry level medical certificate. But if you use the 719K/E (basically a short form) your medical certificate will be restricted and you won’t be able to stand lookout duties. I’d recommend using the 719K if you’re healthy. You’ll get a medical certificate without restrictions—which you’ll need to get AB or stand lookout.
