I am more interested in learning and improving my knowledge and skill set.
I didn’t gain anything from DP intro, learned quite a bit in DP advanced, and would like more edjoomacation. Willing to pay for it.
I took it to move along the process but actually got a lot out of it educationally speaking. It was valuable to be able to use the Kongsberg system rather intensely in a full mission simulator for 5 days. Particularly since my experience on vessels was L3 and Beier. Financially it will pay off after 100 days working in an increased day rate. I highly recommend the course.

I was signed up just a few mins ago to this valuable site,and saw the subject about DPO. I’m searching for courses and talked so much training course. The cheapest one is in Romania. But I don’t know the education quality. I think the Maersk’s is better than others.
Furthermore, I have a question in my mind. Will be happy if anyone could help me about it. Let’s suppose that we go a basic DP training course. (Thinks its lasting 4-5 days.) And finish it succesfully. How could we find 30 days training position on board a DP Vessel ? Companies have very hard conditions,and not needing a trainee. What’s your opinions on this matter ? By the way, I asked the courses of Maersk and Bibby Shipmanagement for this matter and they said they are not helping on it. Anybody share his experiences ?
On the other hand, I’m a Turkish citizen and have Oceangoing Watchkeeping Officer COC. What about the poing of view of European country ship owners’ to Turkish personel ?

Im focused on my Advanced Course which I will be taking at MPT because Kongsberg Houston is booked solid for 2014. There is a bit of a rush because Jan. 2015 there will be an final exam involved for advanced simulator.

Where did you get this info/rumor? any way to verify? I know NI does not reply to questions on this matter, I know, I tried.
In Odessa there are DP Positioning good courses too
Whats your concern, do you want it to start earlier or later?
