Don’t forget bedding, including a mattress pad to put between your bedding and everything that others have left on that mattress. Your own pillows to avoid the stained ones aboard. Linens, and a nice washable lightweight comforter to avoid the heavy and lumpy blankets on the boat.

Ya sure, you betcha!
When i decked on harbor boats i would always want to kill the guy that would hang out off watch in the galley for 4 hrs and get in the way of sanitary and everything else. Its worse of you dont like the guy.
Don’t let him get in your way. Clean one area of the galley, they get him to move his shit to the area you just cleaned there. If he makes a mess where you just cleaned make him clean his own mess before bed. That plain an simple.

better still…close the galley and mess for cleaning after every meal service
better yet, just get a reliable replacement.
In other news, My deckhand mops outside the captains room a few times a night whenever he goes to/from the wheelhouse so he gets his feet wet whenever he comes out to piss. That’s the penalty for destroying the showers with his “slime.” Don’t think he has caught on yet. Oh yeah he sleeps in his socks too!
You passive aggressive bastard, I love it!

Double roger that.
Years ago working for Brand X Ship docking, mattresses and linen often looked like someone was murdered or shit themselves on it.
Probably both.
That is fucking hilarious! Well, I don’t have any problems with any of the guys on the boat. I will either “nicely” ask them to clean their fuckin mess up or if I don’t catch it in time I will leave it an when he wakes up he gets to clean his mess… That may be why so many hands at my company don’t like me. Maybe I am an asshole… Naaahhhhh
