DDE 4000 Test Modules

I getting ready to submit to test for DDE 4000 and I’m hoping somebody will give me some insight on what modules (i.e electrical, motor, safety, etc) will be on the test and the “difficulty” of the test modules, any help would be appreciated…

General subjects, motor plants, safety and environmental.

For me motors and safety wasn’t a big deal. General is the tough one because a bunch of different things can be thrown at you. One thing I noticed when I tested was there was a whole bunch of electrical questions thrown into my general test, and my study material had very few electrical questions. I used mariner advancement for a few months and then lapware my last month before testing.

There’d that sails with me just tested for his 4000 and said the same thing. He had a bunch of electrical thrown at him on his general test.

I just tested for any horsepower and had the same experience as Ctony. General was rough. I used maritime advancement to study, but also lots of books to fill in the gaps. My advice is to study the material you don’t know by reading and learning, not by cramming. When you can get 80% or better every time you should be good to go. 50 questions each test and four modules. If you need any help with formulas or what not let me know, they can be hard to find! Good luck!
