Brilliant new visualization that makes it easy to see who’s winning and who’s losing.

Tonight on TV was an interview with ICU personnel who told that to their surprise the patients were all between 40 and 65 years of age, no old people. In the past days similar reports also came from other hospitals.

Makes sense. Old people are probably fearful and take isolation seriously.

The middle-age folk probably think they won’t get sick and are not taking isolation as seriously. Therefore they are getting infected in greater numbers not to mention there are more middle aged folk.

That could well be because this is in fact a rather unusual situation, also statistical wise. Old people also have much less social contacts as their intimate circle is usually small to very small.

OMG, those narcissistic press conferences, it goes on and on. I think we did a great job… And that on the day with the most deaths.

And the whitewashing of history continues apace…
From NYT today:

Mr. Trump, who spent weeks downplaying the threat of the virus — and who has retreated from his recent suggestion that social distancing could be scaled back in mid-April — congratulated himself for projections showing that public health measures may dramatically limit the national death toll.

“What would have happened if we did nothing? Because there was a group that said, ‘let’s just ride it out,’” Mr. Trump said, without saying what “group” he was referring to.

Mr. Trump said that as many as 2.2 million people “would have died if we did nothing, if we just carried on with our life.”

“You would have seen people dying on airplanes, you would have seen people dying in hotel lobbies. You would have seen death all over,” Mr. Trump said. By comparison, he said, a potential death toll of 100,000 “is a very low number.”

Asked how current casualty estimates might differ had Mr. Trump called for social distancing measures weeks earlier than he did, in mid-March, almost two months after the first confirmed case of coronavirus in the United States, Mr. Trump insisted that he had acted decisively.

And yet there are so many poor deluded Americans that don’t believe a word that the man says…

Possibly the same group of bible thumpers who are convinced that the earth was created by “God” 5,000 years ago and that science is a commie plot, a vehicle designed to contaminate our precious bodily fluids.

I wish I had pulled the trigger on my 3D printer. Anyway, here’s some interesting news for 3D printer and DYI guys.

Will the WW count tip 1 Mill. before the next update?? (At midnight GMT)

That’s six hours away, a thousand to go, and and it gained 77,000 yesterday (with a third of them in the US). Are you taking bets?

No bets. It’s tip 1 Mill. already:

Quel surprise!

Skipper of CVN-71 is relieved of command for telling it like it is:

Capt. Brett Crozier, the commanding officer of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, now at port in Guam, was relieved Thursday after superiors lost confidence in his ability to lead, the officials said.

Shakes head sadly.

At least Jared Kushner was out front making us proud today. “Dumber than the hockey recruits.”

Despite that there is a global Corona crisis going on, in Sweden business is as usual.

Outdoors, couples stroll arm in arm in the spring sunshine; Malmö’s cafe terraces do a brisk trade. On the beach and surrounding parkland at Sibbarp there were picnics and barbecues this weekend; the adjoining skate park and playground were rammed. No one was wearing a mask.

Wishing them the best but we’ll see in a few weeks, a month max, how this experiment works out

The Swedish government ‘encourages’ the population to stay at home, that’s all. But then you know what will happen when the spring sun shines…
