CMA Engineering Cadet Looking for weekend shipyard work

Hello I am a California Maritime engineering cadet with my TWIC,MMD<and DOD cards. I am looking for weekend work aboad a ship or on a shipyard. I love to learn and I am a hard worker. I worked with MSC for two months over the summer, but I would like more experience. I would love to work at a shipyard so I could learn more about the components while they break them down and do maintanence checks on them. Anyone know where I might be able to get work at?

From my experience I’d say you’re mistaken about what actually happens in a shipyard. I suggest one of the service companies like caterpillar etc.

Try MTD. They do our main engine work on the West Coast.

Yep thats where I use to work when I was in school. You will get way more knowledge than any shipyard

You’ll learn the fine art of bucket-sitting and hiding in voids, tanks, and the restroom, while at the shipyard. Yardbirds excel at those activities. Also, theft and drug dealing.
