The idea behind stopping climate change, which is happening, is to preserve the status quo. Human life will not disappear but a lot of humans will have to move . Some due to rising sea levels as has already occurred, Miami is moving now, which I find entertaining. Agriculture will move due to the changing climate. Siberia may well become a major agricultural area. Nations that have gained power due to their ability to provide food to the world or their own country may find themselves dwindling in their influence as the food production moves with the climate. Slowing down or stopping the warming of the earth will save quadrillions of dollars that could be better spent improving the life of the inhabitants of the planet.
I do not argue about climate change because
1: It is an established fact
2: Even if it was not an established fact why would anyone object to cleaner, less expensive forms of energy, some of which are still being developed? Unless of course their livelihood depends on the more expensive dirtier forms or they are just pissed off at a changing world.
Some folks need to be angry to give them a reason to live I have observed.
