Catfish?

Why? Captain is four bars. Cruise ship captain, 100 ton dinner boat captain, airplane captain, they’re all four bars.

As to the OP’s question, I was thinking it was an MSC deck officer who also happened to be an SSO who had pursued SWO quals during the course of drilling or a period of voluntary activation. Incidentally, I knew a guy who had done this in the past.

But if that was the case he’d be wearing a Navy cover device and star shoulderboards.

Never seen a USMS device and boards with a SWO pin. Backwards to the norm and suspicious to me.

Perhaps he is legit and doing it backwards because he is retired now and works as a merchant mariner?

Why? Because if he’s sailing with MSC then he’s not a Captain with the license he has.

Yeh. Says he’s 2/M unlimited so that’s as far as he’d be going with MSC.

I didn’t see the VD and bar star among the awards what’s happening to the younger generation? The bespectacled baby seal was a revelation, has it found its momma yet?

come on now people…just study the man’s Facebook profile to find the answers. they are all right there if you only look for them.

once you discover the nature of this fellow you might well come away with the sense that he is a lonely person with a rather small life. there is no hint in there of a wife, kids, girlfriend…only a cat and a fancy dress white uniform he wears alone inside his little nowhere apt. Sadly he was not the first

Dear God…the things cats put up with.

Not exactly the prototype of a family car. On the other hand may be he took this one out for a spin and left the Caddy in the garage.

Nyet…I hold that he is very lonely and I suspect has a low self esteem hence the grandiose uniform. He likely had served in the USN and might very well earned the SWO pin and all the fruit salad however I wonder if it is proper he wear all that with a non service uniform after being discharged? Smells stinky to this shnozzola.

Douchebaggery is an equal opportunity profession. You can see he works hard at it

Cute cat. The things she must see that cannot be unseen…

Looks like every 100 ton ferry or public transit “captain”. They’re the real merchant marines!

Ford Thunderbird 1957.

Port hole windows are a nice nautical feature on a car and were typical for the first generation of T-birds. Tell me about these cars, I am still driving my 1995 Thunderbird. Speaking of quality, I have had only one repair in all those years, a flashed spark plug wire!

I’ll bet he has a ton of nautical kitsch in his bachelor pad…might even have a hammock

I wonder what the neighbors have to say

In NZ it is a criminal offence to wear medals or other decorations that one is not entitled to wear. I believe this is the same in the UK and Australia.
My father who served in the navy from 1936 until 1952. He took part in the Battle of River Plate, Atlantic and Arctic convoy duties, torpedoed in the Pacific and finally to the surrender in Tokyo Bay in HMNZS Gambia. He received 5 campaign medals. The only other medals he could have received would have been for conspicuous bravery, for which engine room personnel are often overlooked and a good conduct medal for 15 years of good conduct, otherwise known for undetected crime. Looking at the antics of some of his offspring in their younger days I’m not surprised that that was never awarded.

I would own and drive that T-Bird even if it is titty pink.

What a horrible thread this is. Doesn’t people deserve some privacy?
Even people with pathetic lives?

Aye. Easy to get carried away. Sorry… :frowning:

Nope. Not when you post your pathetic life in a publicly accessible place. It does suck, but you gotta know better than that these days. That one with the cat is freaking priceless…
