This is my second career (formerly Senior Chief in USCG). I currently hold license as; Chief (limited oceans) unlimited horse power, Chief OSV, Second Asst. unlimited horse power. Right now pulling down 540.00 plus 45.00 travel pay for each day worked. Working even time (length of hitch my choice)
Been trying to get some straight answers out of Crowley Marine Recruiter, but answers are slow to come. Before I go further I need some unbiased answers. If your in the know of current SIU/Crowley pay scale could use some advise.
They say they don’t direct hire C/E, have to start as Asst.
a) why and for how long?
b)what is pay of Asst?
I hear that C/M and C/E do the product load and discharges.
a) where did the Barge Captain/PIC-Barge go
b) Do I have obtain PIC-Barge (that’s going to take a least two hitches)?
What is the SIU contract paying for C/E
Should I run or should I phone conference?
Being courted by a Pamela Merrill for the last week or so to fill a C/E position on one of the Gulf/East Coast ATB’s. Now she wants to phone confrence me with a Jenny Terpenning .

Use the search function. There was another post here with pay spelled out. I think it was titled “Crowley Liner service.” A new SIU contract has increased the pay a bit since them, but not dramatically. Crowley pays relatively low. You are doing much better where you are now.
Way to much BULLSHIT for the money at Crowley petroleum services.
Former Chief, IBU Contract 2008. Could be better now. Rotation was
good/ok. Top heavy big ship academy guys in management, like dogs over pissing each other’s piss when it comes to the VOM, "vessel op’s manual.
Policy was changing by the minute, about the time you thought you had it figured out the policy/VOM would change, also way too touchy feely for me.
Could be better now??
Have not heard many good things about Crowley and I sailed on their ARC fleet and it was trash pay. Good luck tho, I also have heard it’s all about who you know at Crowley.
