Very interesting and thanks for the post Mike…

Maybe the G1200 finally getting a green light to move or perhaps something else?

Either way, if it is work for American mariners this is wonderful!

This is most appreciated Mike and thank you for posting it. Work for American mariners is wonderful news!

This is way too positive a response from you c.captain. What’s the catch?

I’m just in a happy mood today…my doctor is awesome! Those little pink pills he gives me are incredible, but the downside is what happens to me when there’s no more magic

Whys turn over so high on that ship

I think it could be related to something concerning that the ship has been sitting in Pensacola all this time waiting for a contract…anybody have any additional insight into this?

It’s mentioned here although it it could also be the 1201. Not sure really. Feb 15 - Technip Awarded Subsea Pipelay Contract Offshore Australia

I thought they scored a contract in Mexico for some pipe lay work there? Guess it fell through.

A friend of mine is on there and I think they have been having some mechanical issues.

I think Alliance will always be advertising for those spots based on their management style. They wait until the last minute, tell you what you want to hear, then fail to follow through or you find out what they lead you to believe is not necessarily the case once you get on board. In the current environment, it is relatively easy to find another job if things are not what you expected once on board, so there is always likely to be turnover. If you don’t have any preconceived notions, you won’t be disappointed.

My friend has no complaints but he is probably the most easy going guy I’ve met.

Anyone know what they are paying ABs?

I worked on the G1200 for a short time. It all has to do with management. They were in the middle of trying to sort out 3-5 different companies running the ships marine department. Alliance is only the US crewing agency. They do at least pay what they said and when its due. As for the mention of training in the ad, forget it! That never happened and I doubt if it ever will! They do pay well for officers at least. I don;t know what they pay ABs.
They did go to Mexico for a short job. I left right before they did. Pemex had some outrageous rules I did not want to comply with so I quit before the ship left for Mexico. It was supposed to be a short job with prospects of long term contract if all went well. I don;t know if they’re back in Pensacola because it didn;t go well or just because??? Its a nice new ship and good people onboard to work with. If they can ever get all thier ducks in a row on the companies side, it would be a great place to work. I might try to go back then ;-0
Til then, they can keep it!
