Trumpy is so much better than the last guy.
Definitely the first thing that comes to mind whenever the Democratic party is mentioned…
definitely personifies 2019 American values and virtues and certainly Christian values…another good call from the forum’s moral compass…
Congressional oversight…Nowadays…It’s a stumbling fumbling quasi coup attempt starting with RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA!!! Then all of the rest of the Cavanaugh on steroids style claims that just keep blowing out. Shiff and Swalwell’s batting average ain’t very good. Rep Al Green is the only Dem I’ve heard speak the truth in a while. He said, " He’ll get re-elected if we don’t impeach him"! After listening to the last debate, I have to agree.
Treason? I’m not sure that your version of treason is the same as the Constituitions.
even if they do impeach him, if it falls flat in the Senate and everybody looks around like…so what did we accomplish here exactly? And what did we NOT accomplish because we were solely focused on this? You know, that whole passing bills and making laws for the betterment of the country aspect of the job description?
I’m all about compromise…remove the word treasonous and the meme still stands.
Sounds like the Clinton impeachment.
Exactly. I think if that scenario goes down (house impeaches, Senate votes it down), it is a HUGE election boost not only for Trump but for the house and senate seats due in 2020. The narrative being “what good is it to re-elect me if you give me an obstructionist congress who are so hell bent, delusional, (etc, etc) that they can’t even secure our boarders, pass infrastructure, (etc., etc.). Give me somebody who is focused on continuing to make America great again!” (or something of THAT ilk).
Buddy. The house has been sending ooodles of bills to the senate but they have been languishing on Mitch’s desk with no attempt to even vote on them. What reality or multiverse are you living in?
The reality that they ain’t gonna pass…and even if they do, they’ll be vetoed…that’s the reality “buddy”
So why not put them to a vote? Without at least allowing a vote, who are the real “obstructionists” in government? What can be accomplished if both sides just ignore the other? Compromise is how governments work and how deals are made. Who is even trying anymore?
Gentlemen, please. What we have here is an interesting exercise in Whataboutism, a rhetorical device so discredited it has its own Wikipedia page. The objective is diversion (the “three D’s” of Agitprop are Deny, Divert, and Drown Out), sending the thread down a rabbit hole of arguing about some inflammatory historical allegation.
Frankly, I don’t see what the Trump supporters have to worry about. He has a ton of overt and dark money behind him, a core set of supporters whose honor is their loyalty, and the GRU on his side. His biggest advantage is his utter contempt for law and the Constitution.
I eagerly await the next “what about …”
Earl
It’s how they SHOULD work…the lack of compromise is from both sides let’s not forget. It would take a lot of digging but I am fairly confident to express my doubt there was much input from the Republican members of the house on many of the bills that went to the “grim reaper”…not when the democrats are like lemmings voting with whatever Pelosi says they should and have enough votes to pass whatever they want with no Republican support.
Two things before I have to go on to more important things like sharting on myself.
#1 - stop saying “ilk”
#2 - It’s not Make America Great Again anymore, it’s My Allies Get Abandoned.
#1. But I like it…especially when I get a response like:
because that tells me it’s having the desired effect.
#2. As previously stated, I agree that it is a shitty deal. But what was the alternative? Continued spending of blood and treasure for what? So the Kurds could still live on land that’s not theirs surrounded by people that want to kill them? What’s the long term plan here? What’s the solution? There wasn’t one of either.
Yeah, well…what about one of your posts a while back fawning about a whistle blower. That seems to have fizzled out. Keep digging and throwing and something may finally stick.
Ah yes, the “shotgun approach”, an idiom-isim device so common that it has it’s own wiktionary (?) article.

Soon to be cut/pasted and placed as the motto of the democratic party
Please quote the statement(s) you find objectionable so that I may clarify.
Cheers,
Earl
I’ll save him the time…(I’m on lunchbreak so I got time to kill)
That strikes me as an entirely accurate statement. I don’t think Mr. Boebert has any call to be embarrassed about it.
