Maybe you and your fellow Aussie “powerabout” should read up on the definition of “Genocide”.
It is not something to throw about lightly. It takes years for the ICC in den Haag to determine if any case put before it is Genocide.
That is probably correct and not a surprise the way the Israelis are behaving in both Gaza and on the West Bank, which you should know if you follow the news (with an open mind).
That doesn’t mean ALL Palestinians are responsible for the astrocytes carried out by Hamas, any more that ALL Israelis support the illegal settlers on the West Bank. (Or ALL the population of any country is responsible for the actions of their Government and Armed Forces)
Let us. Yes Israel has the right to exist and to defend themselves. That is enshrined in the UN Charter.
But the Palestinian also has right to homeland, with self-determination and secure borders, as agreed in the Oslo Accords.

After all that I still don’t see a full throated condemnation of the atrocities of Hamas in their attack on Israel.

You support by your silence the rape, murder, torture, mutillation, of people in Israel, even babies - those babies no doubt brought their fate upon themselves and their mothers. You support the ongoing rape of the women hostages (and probably some of the men too). Do you note how none of the young, pretty women have been returned in prisoner exchanges? They won’t ever be because they have been repeatedly raped and would tell the world that and that wonderful, justified, righteous Hamas (in your eyes) would be exposed to people just like you.
Just say it. Tell us all plainly what your view of Hamas is.
I note you support Israel’s right to exist but, by international law, that includes the right to defend with deadly force against attack and to kill and capture the enemy until he surrenders. You want Israel to stop and thus be defeated by a regrouped Hamas.
Palestinians can have their homeland as offered many times over the years and rejected by them every single time. Your ignorance of the failure of the Oslo Accords - and all the others - abounds. There will be no homeland for Palestinians until they forever renounce their stated policy of eliminating Israel and its Jews … by genociding them. I like the word.
But back to the theme of this thread, I deplore any attempts by any nations to sneak supplies into Gaza which avoid checks to prevent the supply of weapons and munitions. Hamas doesn’t want food. There’s plenty and it is allowed through. It regards the welfare of Gazans as the responsibility of the UN, not theirs. Civilians are just tools to be used as human shields.
Because maybe Israel has committed worse atrocities than any comparable amount Palestinian a have committed. Israel has no intention of a two state solution. They want to exterminate the Palestinian Christian and Muslims from their land.
Israel is an apartheid state that gives citizenship solely base on religion. They are using the same attics and rhetoric that was used by the Germans in WW2 to justify their actions.
One genocide does not justify another genocide !
Israelites spit on Christian’s and Muslims and the lack of respect and accountability it’s appalling. They also built a wall right through the West Bank and cut off power and restrict the water supply to the Palestinians.
They create ghettos and push Palestinians into them while taking their land.
As a Catholic I’m saddened as the Israeli government won’t even sign a treaty from the pope stating they will respect Christian holy cites.
If you look up the old 1948 Palestinian Revolutionary flag it had both a crescent moon and a cross on it. Represented the Christians and Muslims that banded together to fight the invading and conquering Jewish Europeans that had no intention of living in peace.
No Christian and Muslim can look upon the situation and think Israel is in the right. However I think it is a large result of their current leader who has turned into a dictator. A lot of Israelis and Jews HATE him and what he has done.
So you condone murdering babies, raping, mutillating and kidnapping for further rape and ransom? It seems so. Nice one, but not very Catholic. Turn the other cheek? Love thine enemies? Christian forgiveness?
Remember, Hamas broke the existing cease fire when it attacked Israel. It committed the atrocities and it continues to rape and torture the hostages but not a word of condemnation from you. You simply say ‘perhaps’ Israel brought those war crimes upon itself.
You can disagree with Israeli politics without selling your soul to the Hamas Satan. You should really read more widely and not swallow whole all of the propaganda emanating from Gaza regurgitated above.
If Hamas and Palestinians renounce war and conquest and the elimination of Israel, there will be peace. What chance of that do you think?
