A World Central Kitchen barge loaded with food is the first maritime shipment of aid to arrive in Gaza.
A pier/breakwater built by volunteers and aid workers, under protection by Israeli soldiers, has been completed and used to receive the first shipment
(No shortage of “rubble” for the construction)
More aide are being prepared for shipment in Cyprus, probably by this vessel:
From gcaptain newletter today:
WCK have been constructing a makeshift jetty which would allow the flat-bottomed barge to approach Gaza’s shallow waters for lack of proper port infrastructure:
World Central Kitchen (WCK) barge loaded with food arrives off Gaza, March 15, 2024.
Israel Defense Forces/Handout
Noticed the total absence of heavy security around the pier and no Hamas fighters shooting up the place, or flying killer drones at the tug offshore.
Maybe they don’t mind that mind that aid gets to the civilian after all??
PS> They don’t have far to go to find enough suitable material to extend the pier a little further before the next shipment arrive.
(No, I don’t mean sand)
An aid convoy have reached North Gaza from the south the first time in weeks:
It did so without any hindrance by Israeli forces. "Shamed"by the fact that charitable organizations manage to deliver aid by sea??
PS> Wouldn’t it have been easier to allow aid convoys to enter directly though crossings from Israeli territory in the north?
Good undamaged, unmined and uncrowded roads are available from where the aid is stockpiled in Egypt and Jordan to the northern crossings:
i will never forget in the wake of 9/11, Gazans (who until 1967 were known as Egyptians) dancing in the streets with glee at the sight of the WTC twin towers and surrounding buildings falling and people jumping out of buildings to their deaths. Hard to feel sorry for those whose government started this.
Perhaps you are unaware that Hamas isn’t standing around anywhere but safe in their tunnels. If they stand around, the IDF is perfectly entitled to kill them … which is good. Aerial surveillance can probably find individual faces in the open anywhere in Gaza. It makes even less sense to be in the open with weapons showing.
Hamas exercises control nevertheless. Hamas is probably present in that crowd ashore and they aren’t stupid enough to shoot up their own supplies. They just left their uniforms at home.
Hamas is the entire reason there’s a war. Gazans overwhelmingly support Hamas, the destruction of Israel, the continuation of the war until Israel is defeated, and they get what they deserve. I support Israel’s right to prosecute this war to eliminate Hamas entirely.
BTW, Israel attacked the Hamas fighters in the hospital in the last day. They killed some and captured many. No medical staff or patients hurt. Who knew? Hamas hides in hospitals and uses patients as human shields. Let’s see what lies are spun in the media over this one.
Actually Hamas did not gat a majority of the vote in the 2006 election in Gaza:
“Change and Reform Party” (Hamas) got 44.45% of the votes cast, representing less than 40% of the eligible population in Gaza at the time:
Since than there hasn’t been an election there.
In that case; Who are these “Armed Palestinians” that IDF is exchanging fire with on surface?:
I agree, but there have been opinion polls. Check the recent ones this year.
I note you didn’t disagree with Israel’s right to kill and capture Hamas until they are defeated and didn’t support Hamas hiding in the hospital. Good. We are agreeing more and more.
So Israel’s genocide pissed off Palestinians? Color me shocked! It’s not like that was the predictable outcome of them overreacting like this and exactly why the US advisors told them not to respond in this manner.
You clearly don’t understand what he’s replying to in his post. Maybe go back and read the multiple threads we’ve had on this topic already for some context.
Er … Hamas (and a goodly selection of non-Hamas civvies) attacked Israel and did a bit of recreational raping, mutilating, genociding and kidnapping. Perhaps you forgot that bit. Easy to miss, I know.
I’m pissed off about that bit. Israel is justified in responding (‘overreacting’) as it has. Destroy Hamas, I say.
As I have stated before; I’m NOT pro-Hamas, or anti-Israel. (Or anti-anything else, except hypocrisy)
I do nor claim to have any special knowledge of the Israel-Palestine Conflict, but I have followed the news for the last 60 years or so and have as much understanding of the problem as anybody not directly involved in it.
Then you should know that Gazans (and increasingly Arabs on the West Bank) support Hamas, and they support its abhorrent actions raping, murdering, kidnapping and genociding.
It’s nice to know you are not pro-Hamas, but you seem to support all that raping/murdering stuff unless you actually say so. Say it and tell us you are anti-Hamas. You’ll probably find it’s a proscribed terror organisation pretty much everywhere, even Norway.
Tell us also that Israel, created by the nations of the UN after the genocide of WWII, has a right to exist within secure borders and defend itself against attack. Let’s start there. shall we.
