He made a big deal about bombing Yemen to glass, or hunting down the pirate leadership and exterminating them, or something. It was in the news just a few months ago.
Then he forgot all about it, I guess.

I’m not a military analysts but my guess is Iran, using one of their last proxies that still has fight in them to exact revenge for the B2 bombers & bunker busters that destroyed Fordow. I guess in their wildest dream they hope to shoot down a fighter jet or bomber so the Ayatollah can appease his war hungry masses in Iran. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if the US powers that be allows such a downing to prevent further escalation. Preferably no US pilot gets killed, just a sacrificial fighter jet to allow Iran to save face?
Everytime the Houthis attack a ship in the Red Sea we should suggest to the Israelis that they:
Hit the most important Houthi infrastructure, and command and control hard, and
Sink a ship alongside the dock at a major oil terminal in Iran.
That would stop the Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping very quickly.
I’ve been saying that for years. Drop 1,000,000 flyers saying as such. In the flyers give the name & address’s of the Houthis leaders. Every time the Houthis attack a ship destroy a power plant or airport. The people of Yemen love electricity, air conditioning, refrigeration & traveling more than they love their Houthis leadership imo.

here is the answer to Dr.Sal question when He wonders why crew did not use the other liferaft despite the fact such was available and what it seems in good condition.
Cargo ships need liferafts with a total capacity equal to the number of persons on board. If these liferafts can be readily transferred for launching on either side of the ship, that is sufficient.
If not, additional liferafts must be provided to ensure that there is 100% capacity on both sides of the ship.
So one liferaft was used as it acommodated the whole crew.
Why they have not used the free fall lifeboat? -it beats me but my hypothetical answer is :
It is the result of 20 years of propaganda spread by those who should never become the seamen. IT is the result of uninteruppted brainwashing mostly by ENGINEERS who were always the first to complain against going inside and leting it go for the purpose of traing . I had it many times on board and it caused a lot of angxiety .
The chief insttution who complained about the use of free fall lifeboats in the media and also to IMO was INTERMANAGER, who sort of promoted the free fall lifeboat scare and was a leader in such scare mongering. I
Instead of advocating for more crew training , they advocated for the creation of regulations that in effect caused the less frequent use of these boats during drills.
They produced always some list of serious accidents , with broken spines and serious injuries which were the result solely from the lack of frequent training .
The other item is the height of the boat in empty conditionn . The above mentioned propaganda has casued many to believe that at this height the launching in this condition of draft is life threatening.
I had on two occasion to handover command of the ship to chief mate as he refused to go with crew in the boat in conditions higher then maximum ship draft due to the very height.
I had to go there and call others to join me to demonstrate it had been an still is so far, the safest method of evacuation.
Nowadays as master you can not even order them to go in as they have the rights to refuse due to woke indoctrination and democratisation of life/work on the ship and indecisive shore office actions that failed to remove/purge the sisy type of mama-titsucking , spoiled brats & assholes who should never go to sea.

The US has been feeding Yemen for as long as I can remember. Obviously, that was a big mistake.
Of course, as soon as tankers start sinking along side Iranian loading terminals, the Houthis will be told by their Iranian masters to stop attacking ships in the Red Sea.

The Houthis are a large clan originating from Yemen’s northwestern Saada province. They practice the Zaydi form of Shiism. Zaydis make up around 35 percent of Yemen’s population.
