Sadly, I think you missed my point. The laptop has been in the possession of the Department of Justice and FBI for years now and they have sat on it. That’s Democrat handling for you.
It hasn’t been progressed because the laptop contains evidence against President Biden as well as others in the family.
Democrats don’t want to investigate because they know what they will find.
Well then, it’s simple. All the Republicans have to do as part of their hearings is to simply, insistently, persistently demand the contents be released.
The Supreme Court is packed with justices hand-picked by P45. They can demand the laptop’s contents be released. Like, tomorrow.
Hate the Democrats all you want, but if the shoe were on the other foot the Democrats would have done exactly that, waaaay back in 2020.
Why don’t the Republicans? Do they not know what a Supreme Court is? How the justice system works?
I’m sorry to say that reality is no longer a friend to the GOP.
Well thank you so much for granting me permission not to respond.
However, just as there’s no need for you to post your thoughts here, you did, in fact, post them to an open forum. So to expect no response is rather odd. Perhaps a diary would better meet your needs?
Well that’s good as I’m not and don’t claim to be. I can only post my personal feelings on this and any other topic in this forum
‘Whataboutisim’ is PRECISELY the process one goes through when evaluating your options. Whether it’s news outlets, candidates, or which peanut butter you want to buy. I.e., 'ok, choice A has these drawbacks, WHATABOUT choices B, C, and so on. After that analysis, you pick the best choice out of non ideal options.
In both your original post and this one, you’re looking at things in a very compartmentalized vacuum. That is, FN is bad because of the reasons you cited, why would anyone watch them and AF General says X, why don’t people believe him vs. FN saying Y. The problem with that is that neither of those stories exist in a vacuum.
In the case of FN, they have a history of at least reporting on things I care about, my other choices don’t. If they sensationalize for ratings then that’s up to me the reader to sort through and research on my own. But at least they’re reporting on the issue to begin with.
Re AF General: this administration (in this case, we’re talking about the DOD-AF-AFA branch) has been pushing THIS (if you don’t like the term ‘woke’, come up with your own name, just don’t claim to not know what we’re talking about here) agenda from day one. So his attempt to normalize this training carries no weight as the people in charge of administering this training have earned no such benefit of the doubt in this area.
As another poster did previously, you’re twisting the testimony. SOME on air personalities who have OPINION shows admitted to backing narratives they believed to be false REGARDING A SPECIFIC EVENT.
That does NOT equal FN lies all the time about everything.
The previous poster was willing to admit his false equivalency… Are you?
I’m sure you know Rep. Jim Jordan (committee chairman) has written recently to AG asking why he hasn’t appointed a special prosecutor for this case.
His answer will tell you all you need to know. In the meantime the committee will probe uncomfortably and I’m sure you’re looking forward to that.
BTW I can read lots of stuff from the laptop on publicly available sites if I could be bothered. So can you. I’m told that examining downloads of the laptop contents on you home computer exposes you to charges of all sorts of nasty crimes, so I don’t recommend that. Shall we leave it to the long awaited special prosecutor?
wasn’t being dismissive - actully trying to be considerate that I don’t expect you to be the defender of all fox voters - sorry if that offended you.
Should have defined terms better i guess - Whataboutism - the technique or practice of responding to an accusation or difficult question by making a counteraccusation or raising a different issue.
Q. Why do you believe fox on the airforce - A. well what about Hunter Biden laptop
That is yet another fallacious argument - if FN personalities only knowingly lie - some of the time but not all of the time - can still be a peice of information one could use to evaluate if they are purpostly lying - misleading in this case - agaist the alternative that the Air Force Officers are lying
Understand your point. Although the laptop is a different issue, I was using it as an example of what I’m getting by dumping FN and going to their competition, and that is what I was getting at.
Did FN say the AF General is lying?
And BTW, I don’t think the AF General is lying, more spinning…which in fairness, is his job (to back the program) whether he personally agrees with it or not.
Correct. You (seemingly) have used that piece of information to come to the core question of:
Others (myself included) have considered that piece of information, included it in the totality of each sides’ history, and have chosen to agree with the jist (more woke agenda being implemented by the govt.) and discount the AF General’s reply to this as spin.
According to his attorney, the computer shop owner made a copy of the hard drive before turning it over the FBI. Why hasn’t Jim Jordon subpoenaed the copy? Here’s the story reported by WAPO, way back in 2021 [edited at …for space):
…John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the Wilmington repair shop, has said he received the 13-inch MacBook Pro on April 12, 2019, when Hunter Biden asked him to recover data from the computer because it had been damaged by liquid…
When his work was completed, Della Rocca [Mac Issac’s attorney] said, Mac Isaac repeatedly attempted to contact Hunter Biden, who had signed a repair authorization, to advise him the laptop was ready to be picked up, but Hunter never responded…
…In July 2019, when [news of Hunter Biden’s business dealings with Ukraine was gaining attention… Mac Isaac contacted the FBI about the MacBook…
*On Dec. 9, 2019, FBI agents from the Wilmington field office served a subpoena on Mac Isaac for the laptop, the hard drive and all related paperwork.
*“He willingly gave it to the FBI and was happy to see it go,” Della Rocca said.
He added that Mac Isaac, before turning over the computer, made a copy of its hard drive “in case he was ever thrown under the bus as a result of what he knew.”
So there’s a copy outside of the FBI’s hands, according to lawyer for the laptop repairman. Which means it’s easy to subpoena it. Why hasn’t that been done?
But the law is the law. If it isn’t admissible as evidence, stop talking about it.
(Referring to his 1996 book “Moral Politics”) - “Lakoff makes an attempt to keep his personal views confined to the last third of the book, where he explicitly argues for the superiority of the liberal vision.”
"Gil Duran was the California opinion editor for The Sacramento Bee and the former press secretary for California governor Jerry Brown.
Duran was previously communications director for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein from 2008 to 2010. He was also press secretary to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa."
But luckily at the end of the article there is a ‘further reading’ section offering pieces from Vox, The NewYorker and MSNBC, so from all this reading, the reader will certainly get a fair and balanced view of this issue from all sides.
People with strong political biases are so invested in those biases that if you present them with a neutral viewpoint, their knee jerk reaction is to perceive you as the enemy. Both sides of the political spectrum suffer from the same disease.
