Woke infiltrating KP

Some students presumably have other situations, single parents or step-parents etc.

Cool…now watch this:

What conservative spin?

I’m talking about reality and you’re raging mad about something you made up (or whatever news show you watch made up and told you to be mad about).

It may come as a shock to you, but there are other opinions on things out in this great big world of ours. When you take the stance of “your take on this is different than mine so you’re dense, mine is reality, yours is BS based on what someone else told you to think”, it makes you look petty and narrow minded.

It always saddens me to find that someone has been promoted to Captain that is as closed minded and self-centered as you have shown yourself to be. Thoughts and prayers for the crew that has to sail with you.

“Majority” isn’t “all” and I highly doubt that claim anyway.

Only one of us is mad here and it’s not me.

The scenario you’re mad about is literally fabricated and not real.

Sorry, it doesn’t work turning out around on me.

When your “take on this” is literally based on fiction then no it’s not “petty and narrow minded”.

That’s rich coming from the person that is openly closed minded and not only refusing to learn to not be a dick to others but getting super pissed off at the idea that other people are being taught to not be dicks to others.

There is something in this issue that is difficult for me to understand, fascinating, and scary all at the same time.

So, Fox news, and like media, take a slide from a diversity presentation, and turn it into a inflammatory headline. This is targeted at their audience that fears “wokeness” is servery damaging this country. This quickly inflames an on line bonfire, including insinuations that the US Airforce is now prohibiting the terms mother and father. Fox news does this for money.

Shortly after, senior officers from the US Air Force address it publicly. This was one slide taken out of context from a presentation on diversity training. Its purpose was to sensitise the audience that not all people come from similar backgrounds and situations, and to be aware of this in your communications.

At the same time, Rupert Murdoch, under oath, is testifying that Fox news was knowingly lying to their audience. Also at the same time it became apparent that many of the leading Fox news personalities were knowingly lying to their audience. Both Fox News, and their talent were doing this for money.

Many, probably most, of Fox news’ audience takes in these pieces of information and conclude the Senior Officers of the US Air Force are twisting the truth and that Fox news is correctly pointing out a serious issue threatening our way of life. They are almost taking this position as a matter of faith. And these are not all ignorant, uneducated people. Most are good, smart, moral folks. They are our neighbours.

I have no way of understanding that take away. I am completely fascinated by this phenomenon, and I find it very scary. When good, honest, intelligent people are willing to abandon the primacy of truth and reason for an ideology almost all kinds of bad things become possible.

First, to a couple of your points:

re: inflammatory headline - Here is the headline on their online story:

Air Force Academy diversity training tells cadets to use words that ‘include all genders,’ drop ‘mom and dad’ | Fox News

Is this false? Want to debate the difference between ‘drop’ vs. ‘instead of’? It inflamed people because of the content of the story, not the wording of the headline.

re: FN is in business to make money - Is this a new development? Are other news outlets not also for-profit businesses? Why is this relevant?

re: Rupert Murdoch’s testimony - you complain about a slide being taken out of context then you do the same thing wrt RM’s testimony…come on now… Also, do you have equal outrage over the recordings of CNN heads deciding to bury the laptop story in October of 2020, right before a presidential election? Is this not lying by omission? To you, is that any different? It’s not to me.

What’s my other option? In many cases, the competing outlets don’t even report on issues that are important to me. I went to cnn’s website to see how their headline for this story was worded and was unable to find results for my search. Whether it’s this story, situation at the border, the laptop, and on and on, stories that are contrary to their narrative are not reported / under reported.

It’s similar to the question of ‘how can anyone support Trump?’ Once again, what’s my other choice? Clinton??? Biden??? Not happening, so I’m left with the best pick of bad choices.

No, but it heavily implies, and I’m sure most people outraged by the story think read it this way, that they told cadets to stop referring to their own parents as ‘mom and dad’, which they absolutely did not.

Or both.

They did what they should have done, not report on an unverified bullshit story that was released intentionally to swing an election. (It’s been years and so far the only thing verified about it is some pictures of Hunter Biden’s dick and others of him doing drugs. Everyone knew he did drugs and has a dick so that’s not news.)

If you still have this question, please see the entire post above this one.

Yes, because Fox wrote the story specifically to inflame people including half the article being fear mongering from some anti woke Republican congressman equating it to communism (because the CIA psyop worked and you guys are terrified of anything labeled communism).

There was one paragraph near the bottom that actually explains what’s going on and it’s nothing anyone should be upset about but neither you nor any other Fox reader actually got that far or comprehended what the general said if you did.

““The slide on ‘inclusive language’ was intended to demonstrate how respect for others should be used to build inclusive teams, producing more effective warfighting units,” Clark continued. “Understanding a person’s context shows respect. Until you know a person’s situation, we should not make assumptions about them.””

I too have fun with this.

A couple of months before the election of 2004 one of the most famous journalists in the world, Dan Rather, ran a story on CBS that showed P42, running for re-election, in a bad light. The trouble was, Rather rushed the story to publication without verification.

The right wing media excoriated CBS: How dare you rush a story you could not verify to publication right before an election. Shame on you!

And they were correct to say it.

Yet when CNN doesn’t publish an unverified story to publication right before an election the right-wing media screams, How dare you NOT rush an unverified story to publication right before an election!

Here’s the kicker: Dan Rather fell on his sword. Having crossed a journalistic line, he resigned. Honorably, in my view. He fucked up. He took his punishment.

How many of the liars on FOX–caught red-handed-- have resigned? Even admitted they lied? Even mentioned the story?

That’s the difference between a news organization and Fox. And I don’t even watch CNN.

not familiar with fast mongering

nor am I familiar with any Air Force Admirals

However, I did see what the Lt. Gen. said and am familiar with it as it’s been discussed in this thread.

Publishing as fact is different than reporting something exists. Because the laptop (and Rather’s documents), did in fact, exist. To have zero reporting on it is the media outlet’s attempt to swing the election by omission.

Rather’s documents were faked. Yes, the paper they were printed on existed, but the words–the info-- on them were fake, and not worth the paper. CBS shouldn’t have run the story.

Does it occur to you the same may be the case with HB’s laptop? It would occur to a news editor.

But it’s all very easily sorted out:

Give the laptop to a DA. Convene a grand jury to investigate the evidence. If there’s a crime, try HB in court. The American Way.

But why hasn’t it been done? It’s been years now.

I’ve asked this question a couple of times on this forum.

Haven’t gone an answer back.

Well, there’s action on it in the House now. We’ll see what comes of it. Gonna be interesting to see how the various millions flowing into the various members of the Biden family will be explained.

Even CNN’s Erin Burnett was willing to say on air that it ‘doesn’t look good’ (regarding the payments from China to Biden family) which was refreshingly shocking.

This is what I mean.

The House is not part of the justice system. If there’s a crime then you get a DA to investigate and prosecute. That’s the justice system.

Why isn’t the criminal justice system being used re: HB’s laptop? What’s the danger of letting the arm of government which is skilled with evidence and criminal investigation expertly look at the evidence as part of a criminal investigation?

Um … er … politics?

Kevin Drum wrote a couple posts about this.

Sorry the delay in responding - first things first - my post was not specific to you, and I don’t believe you need to be the standard bearer for all of the Fox news watchers. My post was intended to be a more general question.

To your reply -

It did not at all address the point I was trying to make. It was just a series of fallacious arguments that don’t address the substance of my question at all. It is just a series of semantics, and whataboutism.

They core question I was asking is why, in general, the Fox viewership would be more likely to discount the explanation of the US Airforce Officers and more closely support the jist of the Fox News coverage. Despite much evidence that Fox news has repeatedly, and knowingly lied to the audience.

This is the dynamic that is fascinating to me.

Again, HAWS - no need to respond and I am not expecting you to be the defender of all Fox viewership.

Exactly,@Jughead. Thanks for making my point for me. If a DA was called in to examine the laptop the only likely evidence they would find is that HB was a drug addict dirt bag. Which everyone knows.

How many weeks have Republicans wasted time in the House investigating this? With nothing to show except amateur dramatics the worst high school musical director would be embarrassed by.

Show the laptop’s damn contents already.

It’s like the Republicans say a murder has been committed but they refuse to open the body bag.

It’s like they say their bank has been robbed but they won’t open the vault to show us it’s empty.

It’s like they demand the insurance money for their house but they won’t give the street address to verify it burned down.

Why?

Because as long as no real investigation is made by legal experts the actual contents will continue to live in the MAGA comic book fantasy world, as Laptop-man, a masked avenger, fighting millions of dead voters, as he dodges Jewish space lasers and vaccine needles, breaks up pedophile rings, and beats the shit out of Chinese drag-queens until they say “mom and dad”.

Hate the Democrats as much as you like, but when they want to investigate someone they do it right. In real time. Immediately. Charges. Witnesses. Evidence. Adjudication.

The other side?

Prove me wrong. Show the evidence.
