In drilling quite often people have to share a cabin which can be a bad thing when you come from ships where you’re almost guaranteed your own cabin with private toilet/shower.
Working on ships you take in for granted that you would have your own cabin and private toilet/show, but not the case in drilling.
Usually people share the cabin with someone who is on the opposite 12 hour shift, but that still has its down sides, especially if the person you are sharing with has poor hygiene standards. Many people in drilling have very bad hygiene standards.
