How does the NMC expect us to submit an application on Monday without some guidance as to what is needed for a particular license? They need to get their act together and provide us with the proper information in order to prepare properly for the upcoming changes. Also where are the 24 NVICs that were supposed to have been released by Monday? I understand that you have only had 5 short years to prepare this stuff but come on!
You might notice the columns in the existing checklists where a specific CFR is referenced. The checklists are the Cliffs Notes for the actual requirements, which are located in … wait for it … the CFR’s.
I’ll take CFR 46 part 11 sub part B for 1100 Alex

You don’t need new checklists yet.
No one is going to be required to meet the new regulations for at least 6 months for QMED and a year or more for AB and licenses. The rule includes grandfathering for anyone who began their sea service before March 24, 2014 (Monday). That means if one day of the saea service you are using was before March 24, you are grandfathered and will qualify under the old rules.
There are plenty of new NVICs as well

Those are the 9 needed right away. There are about 20 more coming soon, they are not as time-critical and won’t be needed right away.
