Ida, now a tropical depression centered over Honduras is forecast to move northward back over the Caribbean Sea tonight where it could re-strengthen back into a tropical storm. As Ida moves northward into the Gulf of Mexico, cooler sea temperatures and gradually increasing wind shear should prevent it from regaining hurricane strength.
November tropical storms tend to turn sharply eastward as they move north so Florida’s West Coast could see some effects from Ida by the middle of next week.
