Sunday UpdateIda continues to move over warm Caribbean waters and has intensified into a hurricane with max winds of 80kts (90mph)but is now starting to move into an area of increasing wind shear and decreasing sea surface temperatures which will tend to weaken the storm and start its transition into an extra-tropical system so the intensity at landfall is questionable but the best guess is that it may still be either at a minimal hurricane intensity or a strong storm intensity when it reaches the Gulf Coast between the Mississippi and Pensacola.
