This vessel was involved in another piracy incident in February this year, but the damage in the pictures happened sometime before this.
I spent a good deal of time in the early 00’s working Nigeria and many other west African ports. Always put the blinders on and said this wouldn’t happen to us. Hope everyone was ok on the Walvis.
Some of our crew got shot up on the road up to Lagos from Port Hartcourt. This was after the PH airport burned down and you had to go to Lagos to get out. . Driver was hit by some shot gun pellets but never stopped driving, everyone else was fine. I hope to never go back to the hell hole again. They don’t pay enough for the risks taken.
