Vessel Traffic Management Specialist

Hi,

I’m trying to find some information regarding a Vessel Traffic Management Specialist career. I’ve searched everything online for training, career path, etc. but the only information I’ve come up with is that it appears this role, in the US, is primarily handled by the Coast Guard via civilian positions. I could also be entirely wrong about that. Any help with getting started and/or insights about the job would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You All

It’s a job handled by Coast Guard personnel. From Navigation Center on CG website:
The Coast Guard operates 12 Vessel Traffic Centers (VTC): Prince William Sound, Puget Sound, Valdez, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles/Long Beach, Houston-Galveston, Berwick Bay, Louisville, Saint Mary’s River, Port Arthur, Tampa, and New York.
