If it involves that hot tub, then I know I am busy for the rest of the century.
So by the by, doing research for another thread, ran across this pic of you on the beach this summer…
HAVE YOU NO SHAME SIR! WILL YOU NEXT BECOME ONE OF THOSE OLD LARGE MEN WHO LIKE TO WEAR VERY SMALL SWIMSUITS IN PUBLIC? OH GOD NO!
Sir, it’s much better than that, I’m naked.
And then one time I ate some rotten berries. Man, there were some strong gases seepin’ outta my butt that day!

I pray that all the beaches were closed to swimming for a few hundred miles or so!
THINK OF THE POOR CHILDREN TO BE EXPOSED TO SUCH A HORRIBLE SIGHT!
OP steam engine from the Emery Rice. Built in the 70s … The 1870s
OP? Hardly, it was what they called “back acting.” It is double acting but aside from the unusual double rod arrangement is just a normal compound engine.
As far as I know, the only OP steam engine that was ever made was a Russian locomotive that didn’t work.

Now I have to ask Steamer but wasn’t the Lentz steam engine an OP design? I know that the Maritime Commission was seriously looking at it in WWII for the VC2 Victoryships but in the end enough turbines and reduction gears became available for them.
Forgive me for my mistake. Considering It was the first steam engine I had ever seen, it is in a horizontal motion and it was cough cough-ty years ago I’m happy I even remembered it was there.
Of course it’s easy to be distracted when walking near the museum annex … It’s right next to Capt Force’s house.

He’s got his own house, right dab in the middle of KP?
Oh, us dirty Engineers.

Which itself is a museum to the John Philip Sousa includes a dried dessicated turd which came from the bowels of the “Great March King” himself! It is one of Force’s most prized possessions and he keeps it in a lighted display case to show to all visitors to his US FEDERAL TAXPAYER PROVIDED FREE HOUSING!
I want a CBO audit of the KP Marching Band Fund! How many millions of taxpayer dollars have we dumped over 41 years into this senseless musical buffoonery?
So the big deal is that some capt has been controlling the band for forty years and the band is the first thing everyone sees when they look them up on the web? I googled USMMA and Kingspoint, looked on pictures and webpage, and did not see any band pictures or any reference to their band. I went to kingspoint webpage and had to dig just to find anything on their band. Big deal.
Hold on a minute! Are you actually trying to post a fact and to use some thoughtful and concise analysis on this forum??? What were you thinking??? Are you actually trying to say that the band at KP is just one of about fifty extra curricular activities at the school, that it is not a threat to Western civilization, and that it is not prominently promoted by KP on any other their internet publications, and that c.captain’s frequent references to it are simply ridiculous and untrue? How dare you!!!
The Gangnam Style video that KP put out is awesome. It is very funny and completely harmless. It is far better than the ones produced by USNA, USMA, USAFA, and USCGA. A simple internet search will reveal that hundreds of other college age people have produced similiar videos. The only thing that they could have done better is during the last scene, when they had the large amount of midshipmen on the square in front of Delano, is to have arranged themselves in a formation that spelled out “STFU c.craptain” or “FU c.craptain”. That would have the video perfect.

OK, So I posted this before, so what, I enjoyed the video. Totally agree with Uniblab.
"Course, had Uniblab posted FU Sweat-n-Grease, well, I still will post the video made me smile and laugh, and that’s nice.

Me thinks thou doeth protest too much. I think I finally figured out why C.Captain is such a KP hater. I think he was a big time Band Geek in High School but couldn’t get in to KP because the band was already full. Capt Force was the one who gave him the bad news and he’s never been able to get over his grudge.
Do you still march around your house to JP Sousa tunes? Just like Kevin Kline in “in and out” you just can’t help yourself.

The Lentz was a “tandem compound” with two double acting cylinders on a single rod … I think Herr Lenz designed it to sell more of his poppet valve gears. Those things were conceived when every engineer and his brother spent their spare time with a bottle of scotch and a pad of graph paper trying to invent a new type of valve gear that would revolutionize the reciprocating steam industry.
OP is just antithetic to getting the most out of a puff of steam.

If they had, I for one would have had a whole cup of coffee go right through my nose all over the keyboard laughing so hard! Nothing would give me greater satisfaction that to know that I am being read there in the compound and am a true source of irritation like a burr in one’s boot. I know they read me at the USMMAAA and must in the Administration as well. Of course, I do wonder if KP’s Wiley Hall overlords block gCaptain from the school’s servers just like they do at Star Center as being subversive and full of lies which might taint young and impressionable minds (afterall, THAT power rests in the administration and cannot be shared!). Can you say Commandant Party Leader Quakxidung, USMS?
UniBlab…you must pull some stroke there at the USMMAAA. Have the whole lot of em little keedetties all in unison say “EFF YOU C.CRAPTAIN” on the EweTube. You will make my century! Pleeeeeeeeeze?

HAHA…GOOD ONE! I actually think Sousa is awesome and love to hear a good rousing march. His music stirs my soul to its great depths but the tune which is my personal theme is Sousa’s “Liberty Bell March”!
