I’m in process of upgrading my license, I have been studying the Mariner Advancement but I’m looking to learn a little more on the theory of the topics to better understand. I’m looking to test for DDE Unlimited. I have seen the Workbooks # USCG Illustrations Workbooks, I think they would be helpful. I’m having trouble ordering them and haven’t gotten a email back yet. Does anyone have any experience with this company and how to y’all this the books?
Doesn’t the mariner advancement thumbdrive have the navy manuals as reference?
They do but I like actually having the books in hand. I hate staring at a laptop. I use the resources, it’s alot of material to cover.

I used these books to upgrade to 3rd A/E and found them extremely helpful. Maybe not as much theory as you want. But the author explains why the answer is what it is, not just that it is answer “C.”

I bought and read Motor Plant from this series. I can’t say it was waste of money, it wasn’t but it didn’t help much. After first book I decided not to buy the rest. Career advancement did the magic.
To each their own. I passed my 3rd A/E with these and Sea Trials mainly. Mariner Advancement I started with but slowly found I using Sea Trials more.
engineer resources were never plentiful and varied but what was available in my day was enough to pass, you did have to learn what was there though.
