Understanding China

Easier to track the movements of EVs.

Why would anybody in China be interested in where you are, have been, or are going?
If you are afraid that anybody anywhere should be interested in your movements, switch off your mobile phone and car navigation system. Don’t use any kind of Credit, Debit or ATM cards, they are all leaving tracks.
Anytime you purchase something on the Internet it is being recorded. your profile built and your data may be sold to anybody willing to pay. Likewise anything you say or do on any forum, chat, or social media.

PS> What have you been up to since you are afraid anybody know what you do and were you go?

Only until Aussie politicians upset the Chinese again.
Russia have coal supply looking for a friendly market to sell to.

BTW: China is favouring renewable energy over coal for it’s future energy need:
https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2021/03/china-green-tech-coal-five-year-plan-environment-climate-change/

And outspending all other countries in renewable energy:

lol every gov says that.
The amount of new coal power stations coming on line along with record coal imports says otherwise, maybe its just a future plan…
Maybe they have gone woke like many, making punters use electric vehicles while the majority of power coming from coal, sounds like New Zealand and Germany.

New plant are just temporaty I guess?

China is also shutting down old coal burning power station and replacing them with more modern plants.
The main incentive is to reduce local pollution and improve air, water and soil quality by “end-of-pipe” emission control and filtering:

Why are you listening to New Zealand politicians?
No one here is.

good to know

let me know when you can drink the water in China, that will be a major step forward if they are on a quest to not pollute.

We know why, they use any means to track dissidents worldwide.
Commies cant stand criticism.
Even try to set up local ‘police stations’ to help round up the Chinese in foreign countries, its a rogue state more active than North Korea
( Iran does the same thing for for same reason)

Umm the article was about EVs on the CHINESE market wasn’t it ?
The Communist Party of China is dead keen on tracking it’s citizens.

Today is 1st May, which is celebrated as International Workers Day / Labour Day, in most of the world.

In China it is one of their biggest holidays, know as “Golden Week”:

Maybe this thread should be “Explaining China” so someone can explain this one.

They waited till there is no evidence before they started the investigation. Indo the same
How do you have a massive salvage barge in your water but nobody notices?

Well I guess a 777 did a low pass right across the country and they didnt notice…

Truly Asia…

PS there are 2 Chinas one with over 4000 years of heritage and peoples all over the world and one, a bunch of power hungry crooks temporarily running it. ( into the ground)
Each has its own constitution

Taiwan is the product of 4000 years of continual development and hence the only true real face of the Chinese.

Another one that needs explaining:

Or perhaps it’s self explanatory.

I spoke too soon
there has been action ( this is a second wave of looting)

From WAPO today:

China would like more American executives like Elon Musk, please. During a whirlwind 44 hours in Beijing and Shanghai, the Tesla and Twitter CEO was celebrated by Chinese Communist Party commentators as an ally opposing a perceived American campaign to separate the world’s two largest economies.

“Decoupling from China means decoupling from opportunity, decoupling from the future,” wrote Xiake Dao, a blog affiliated with the People’s Daily, the party’s official newspaper. “Even if the White House agrees with arguments for decoupling, the Musks [of the world] will not agree.”

Musk, making his first trip to China in three years, apparently felt the same… He told the foreign minister that China and the United States were “conjoined twins” with inseparable interests, according to Chinese readouts…

Musk would say that might even be paid to say it as he got Chinese funding to build his chinese factories that export out of China
Perhaps the first foreign company to make money in China?

Until they reverse engineer his Teslas and start pumping out counterfeits.

yep, as long as their road to technology is stealing it they will always be coming 2nd…
Saying that their skills to run an economy look like they are worse than argentinas, so they have bigger issues than just making the 2nd best tech.

Maybe it is the other way around?:

BTW; There may be a good reason why Chinese shipping companies are building so many PCTCs:
