Now that’s funny… Someone who doesn’t sail preaching about appreciating the situation of safety at sea.
Your rules of engagement involve how to avoid paper cuts…smh

Trolling, and an endless harvest of straw to build straw men.
Coastal traitor:
Sweet… thanks for this.
Someone who doesn’t sail doesn’t equal someone who hasn’t sailed. That’s the first thing you need to understand.
Here’s what has escaped you in this discussion and awareness of the history.
The video and photo stills released by the Navy—intentionally— are a message and part of the rules. Didn’t you wonder why there was video including audio and still photos? The Navy released this! It’s a message. The Navy doesn’t release photos or videos of things that scare them. That’s bad tactics.
They do release them to send a message and to deter bad behavior not just to potential enemies but also the world since the US moral authority is part of deterrence posture worldwide—attracts allies and deters foes. Note the audio on the gun being unpinned, the still photos. This is the message they specifically released and edited to one package. You think they did it for clicks? The Navy is saying, “look at this, if you’re a boat driver, a gunner or a commander, this stuff is gonna cause a problem for you individually or collectively, so pay attention!” The release IS the warning, specific and detailed.
That’s a message. The President tweeting in response to a Fox TV hit a week later? If the US govt message was, “do this again and we’ll end you”, it would have been a coordinated message, vice with a delay and garble. Since he was responding to a TV show, it only shows he’s not in coordination with combatant commanders and that’s a worse message to send to the world.
First of all, thanks for taking the time to explain your position without a bunch of frivolous bullshit which is a skill that escapes coastal traitor (as a side note, of his 14 posts in this topic, only 1 was material to the issue of the topic with another talking about ‘parimeter’ which didn’t make sense. This is in line with his normal averages, but I digress)
Anyway, I don’t dispute what you wrote there but all that is immaterial to my point. Having the gun locked and loaded when fast craft are allowed to come as close as shown in those images doesn’t do any good. It’s too close, it’s too late if one of them is a suicide boat.
Policies need to be changed to not allow that to happen… Simple concept. Agree or disagree as you like.
Sure thing, buddy, whatever makes you stop pretending you know how this works.
Yup, it’s always good to the the shoreside view of important maritime issues.
Somewhere there’s a Youtube video of a group of guys beating a dead horse, but I’m afraid the ASPCA will arrest me if I post it…
How else will the horses get the message?
As long as this is going on
The horse is not dead no matter how many rhetorical devices get quoted.
I thought of that too. But it’s not a horse. It’s a zombie Rocky, hands down and leading with his face
1/15…0.067… Even Trump knows guys with better batting average than yours.
Wow. You really are clueless. This thread is about Trump thinking that you shoot down boats. How many boats have you seen “shot down”?
To the deranged, I’m sure it is. Out of the 154 posts in this thread, how many discussed that? But you know that…1/16
So you’re saying boats can be ‘shot down’?
I realize you guys get aroused to an amazing level at all things rhetorical and thus are foaming at the mouth at the president’s lack of precision in his wording. Like I said, the posters in this thread (including you @Jamesbrown ) didn’t have any problem discussing what the meaning of the tweet was. Well… MOST users… Statistical outliers with batting average of 0.063 notwithstanding.
U.S. warship sails through Taiwan Strait, second time in a month. Going threw there takes a bunch of planning and coordination between the ship, command, fleet and other elements. It’s not something we would just up and do. It literally takes weeks to arrange and hundreds of people all over the world to make happen. Yet here it happened again.
@Hawespiper, any thoughts as to why we would bother with so much effort?
A U.S. warship has again sailed through the sensitive Taiwan Strait, Taiwan’s Defence Ministry said on Friday, the second time in a month amid heighten tension between Taiwan and China and as a Chinese aircraft carrier passes near the island.
Two weeks ago a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer also sailed through the strait, on the same day that Chinese fighter jets drilled in waters close to the democratically-ruled island.
Freedom of navigation patrols… This isn’t new. Plus, here’s a sampling of articles of recent (past few days) events in the area:
@DeckApe, what is your take?
Plus this one
“Lack of precision.” So much for his ‘best words’? How much of the President’s comments do you find irrational, and totally without support but swear you wouldn’t care.
Yes, the meaning was—— the ‘President is Not equipped for the office” and undercuts the national strategic apparatus. And most people would not agree with the President’s POV.
