Study Materials

I’m studying for my 1600 Ton Masters exam, actually only have deck gen and deck safety left to take but I am wondering if anyone knows of a downloadable or online version of the Chemical Data Guide that is searchable? I have a copy that isn’t searchable on my iPad but it’s painfully slow to navigate without the actual book where you can just turn the pages. That’s one of the downfalls of the computer age. I have a searchable copy of the CFR’s but that actually seems counterproductive since that makes finding answers in there too easy compared to the exam room. I am comfortable with the data guide so I don’t feel like a searchable version will hurt my studying but I’m not going to spring for hard copies of the CFRs. Over the years and last few months I have purchased copies of Knights, Merchant Seaman’s Manual, Bowditch, M.M. Officers Handbook, Ship Handlers Handbook on Ships Business, MM Officers guide for Watchstanding, Stability and Trim for the Ships Officer, and Chapman’s in addition to the Murphy’s books and other materials that I’ve been given from guys I’ve sailed with. I like having all of these books for reference and I think it’s easier to study a book that a computer screen but in this instance I’d rather have the latter. And does anyone have a labeled copy of the Diagram D033DG of the hull plating? That would be helpful. Even though I have all of these books I’ll admit I haven’t read them all cover to cover so if it’s in one of them and know where that would be really cool.

Thanks in advance for any help.

…like this?

…not sure if this is what you need…but it’s what I got.

…just in case.

…or just the quick-chart. http://www.liquiflo.com/v2/files/pdf/lit/Chemical_Resistance_Chart.pdf

Thanks, the guide that I am looking for is the one that’s available in the exam room though. Looks like I’m going to have to suffer through searching through a couple of hundred pages by scrolling on the computer…

Here is the Chem Data Guide that is available in the test room and the key to the fire plan questions as a bonus! Do you still need the hull plating diagram?

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks! I found the hull plating diagram, or rather I reverse labeled it by looking up the answers to questions in the murphys books but hey, it worked and I got some practice questions in!
