we’ll invade all the Arab states which are members of OPEC with our ultramega transformers military. Why do you think we have such a massive military anyway? To fight Al Qaeda or China? You don’t need 14 carrier battlegroups to fight them…we have them to blockage the Mid East and protect the waters for US interests.

The US would NEVER let the petrodollar system collapse because the US would soon collapse afterwards. Oil equals gold in this world and the only way for the US dollar to be worth more than toiletpaper is for it to be backed by oil which we don’t own. What an amazing system…thanks to Henry Kissinger (when will that shriveled miserable little fuck gonna die anyway?)

The OP was asking for an opinion and I gave mine. The demand for US dollars and US assets has more to do with the relatively stable, hard currency we have than the price of being oil quoted in US dollars. China has bought a lot of US debt (Treasury’s) and I don’t believe they used petrodollars.
Prices are not quotes in USD. The global Energy market is traded in USD.
Probably the single biggest reason the US invaded Iraq in 2003 was because Saddam Hussein announced he eas going to start selling Iraqi crude in Euros. President Cheney could never tolerate that happening!

FYI, enough with the obsessive China talk.
