ROV trainee advise

Hello all,

I have been accepted as a ROV trainee in Angola.
I am willing to do a post-graduation in subsea engineering (distance learning course) also.
Do you think it’s a good choice?
Would it be an advantage having ROV experience?
Please tell me what you think

Thanks
Cheers

Yes, I think it’s a good choice. You’re taking a trainee job where you can learn a lot and make a bit of $$ doing it. And going the sub sea route, yes this ROV experience will help on your way to making the really big bucks.

Thanks for your reply ENG.207

As a subsea engineer would I be able to work with less % of offshore time?
How does it normally work?
I know this question can be too generic, either way I would appreciate your opinion.

Thanks again

Not sure I understand your question. You mean get a job after graduation with little offshore time?

Yes having in mind the ROV and offshore operations experiente I would have.

Well the time you do, even though it might be just a little, can’t hurt. Work hard, learn a lot, ask questions. Best of luck!
