I work for siu and it expires in sep but i go home April 1st 120 days contract done i guess i am fucked and its going to take way longer then 60 days to renew. Was trying to work to have Christmas off but i guess i will have to take a relief job in between now or something
The NMC will be open again within a few weeks. The disinterested and incompetent staff will start doing the bare minimum again. The renewals will slowly trickle out of NMC, same as before. They’ll produce a report patting themselves on the back for doing a great job under difficult circumstances. Nothing to see here.
submitted for renewal a month ago, hope they will issue an extension letter again like last November…
thank you on behalf of the many mariners on here and in course of your work that you helped. this is big relief to me. my renewal was received weeks ago, glad not to lose any time at work over this lack of politician’s ability to balance a checkbook. dont listen to the whiney bitches on here badmouthing the NMC.
So I can expect to wait longer than 60 days now correct
If you ever read what any of the unions put out you would know they always recommend renewing 6 months in advance. So yes, expect longer than 60 days and anything quicker is great.
I would say yes, in the future you can renew early and they will post date it up to 8 months (it may be different, I’m going off memory)
The error is definitely mine I usually renew a year out but this time around it slipped my mind and it was definitely a mistake I never wind out the clock like this and I guess that’s what happens when you have 5 years on your license and you just never really keep track of it so you’re right and I am wrong in this case so I really have no idea what I’m going to do at this point so yeah. I did try to submit the paperwork before I came out here but I think it said I had like too many months left.
