Renaming Harvey Milk

I can’t help but feel that if he hadn’t been assassinated, anyone outside of San Francisco would be saying “Harvey Who”?

The underage child who who got groomed and addicted to drugs by the degenerate Milk certainly will remember his name…
Oh wait, no, he hung himself shortly after. Woops. Funny how nobody addresses that elephant in the room. A dead kid is so easily forgotten for some I guess.

I feel as though ‘Assasination’ is an overly kind label on his ending. ‘Kinetically prevented from further predatory acts’ seems a bit wordy but accurate.

Yes. Cheeto jesus was the guy who signed off on that decision. His successor simply did what Cheeto jesus agreed to. Strange you didn’t know that.

This is the worst take I’ve ever heard on the Afghan pull out. Look at the troop removals BEFORE Biden was inaugurated, the base closures BEFORE Biden was inaugurated, who surrendered to the Taliban and let out terrorists BEFORE Biden was inaugurated. It wasn’t Biden.

Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State under Trump gave the country to the Taliban in writing.
“Our secretary of State signed a surrender agreement with the Taliban,” Trump national security adviser H.R. McMaster said of Pompeo on a podcast with Bari Weiss. “This collapse goes back to the capitulation agreement of 2020. The Taliban didn’t defeat us. We defeated ourselves.”
All Biden did was screw up getting the people out which was something Trump didn’t even attempt after the surrender by Pompeo/Trump.
At least we’re gone from that mess.

Not strange at all and the troll probably knew that but it was an inconvenient fact about the actions of a convenient idiot.

Right? I give very little credence to war strategies anyway when it comes from a troll who’s country couldn’t even win a “war” against a bunch of flightless birds. :man_shrugging:t3:

The politics of vessel naming is TOTAL BULLSH!T. Bayrunner had it right: Name submarines after fish and sea mammals. Oilers after rivers. Destroyers after military hero’s. Carriers to be named Enterprise Lexington Saratoga, Independence Constellation, America.
But my list includes: Ammo ships named for Volcanoes. Crusiers previously were named for cities [San Francisco, Atlanta, Salem, Newport News]; but the combat-store ships were named for cities too: San Jose, White Plains, Niagara Falls.

The H. Milk was named for only one reason: Milk was gay; not because he was a Navy vet. Hell, the other guy who was shot that day, mayor Moscone was a Navy vet too. .

Naming a CVN for a guy whose only claim to fame was being black while shooting down planes during the Pearl Harbor defense is total BS. Were his actions meritorious? Yes. He was awarded a Navy Cross. Name a DDG for him, then! Not a CVN.

IMHO, the naming of this class of vessels is BS & I’m a supporter of unfu@king the BS. [Renaming the Army bases, and the other Navy vessels was BS too.]

The ancient Greeks got to be spectators to the first Olympic Games to stay busy. The Roman emperors gave their citizens shows in the colosseums to cheer & fight over. In the old western days they had public executions. We got the short end of the stick to be distracted by discussing & arguing over ships being named & un-named over assassinated gay mayors.

But was renaming the renamed bases also BS?

Already addressed, pal! :innocent:

No, I asked if the renaming of the already once renamed bases was BS. You know, the new Fort Bragg…

Yeah. BS the first time & BS the second time because they didn’t revert to the original namesake.

Ok, so no. Got it.

I think it’s moronic however, tit for tat is about as petty as renaming all the schools in CA, Mt McKinley, tearing down historical statues, erasing anything in our history that offends one culture or segment of society. Biden and company went all in renaming anything perceived as offensive. Yes this is BS but… hardly unprecedented. Were you as offended by the left and their quest to right the historical record of this nation’s wrongs? If not, why do you care?

How does renaming the vessel make fighting at at sea any better. Pure bigotry.

Perhaps Trump’s powers are even stronger than I hoped
and imagined? Isn’t it great that he ruled from beyond the White House over the brainless husk. This bodes well for him to do so again after this term too.

I think (you can check but try to find truthful sources) that there was a large, well equipped, reasonably trained Afghan army that was taking over. Trump didn’t surrender to the Taliban. He handed over to a legitimate successor.

But here’ the point.

Neither of you or the multitude of likers (could be lickers too) to your childish responses seems to have read and comprehended my words about dead soldiers, killed on brainless Biden’s watch in the last days. No thought for them in your TDS miasma? Nope. Ooooh! Look! Over there! Unicorns! Lots of them!

He who names last, wins. That’s the moral of the story.

Almost like Trump should have negotiated with the Afghan Gov and signed a deal with them & the Taliban. Instead, the Afghan Government was almost entirely left out of the negotiations. That’s like getting a divorce and having your lawyer leave you out of all the decisions and telling you what the terms are after it’s all done.

Criticism of someone isn’t a derangement syndrome. Is it Biden derangement syndrome if I criticize him? Your bleeding heart for the dead soldiers rings extremely hollow since you fail to recognize one of the major causes of their death. You’ve been a troll on this site for years and your schtick is overly tired.
