Seized Iranian Oil Tankers Head Toward U.S. With $600 Million Cargo

Tifani and Majestic X, both boarded by US forces in the Indian Ocean in April as President Donald Trump imposed a blockade aimed at pressuring Iran to end the war, have skirted the coast of Brazil over the past week, according to shipping data compiled by Bloomberg. A third interdicted ship was observed heading west into the Atlantic after rounding the Cape of Good Hope.

To streamline its efforts, the Justice Department has since sought to introduce an archaic maritime war court system to capture Iranian oil tankers as US prizes, Bloomberg reported in August.

Trump appeared to reference that tactic at a dinner in Palm Beach, Florida, in May, calling it a “very profitable” business. “We took over the ship. We took over the cargo, took over the oil,” he said. “Who would have thought we were doing that? We’re like pirates.”

Yes, “who would have thought” that the US - presumably the country that initiated, follow and enforce international maritime law - would dig up “an archaic maritime war court system” to perform piracy on the high seas?
PS: But President Donald Trump at least tell the truth (for once); "We’re like pirates.”

He started it, he can end it any time he wants to. Just honour the Memorandum he signed in June.
