They could always fill in the gap, tow it to Manhattan, and rent it out for parking spaces.

Only vessels that’s comparable is Saipem 7000 and Thialf. With modernisation and new building in the North Sea I would think it’s enough work to go around.
Edit: Actually they are not comparable, but they are the closest you get.
