Ordinary seaman cant find work in NY
No phone on watch
You beat me to it. Just do what they ask you, check on the guy upstairs. Be glad you got a job on a local boat.

way to go. No attitude, work hard, keep your mouth shut and always volunteer to cook. Most importantly, don’t forget where you came from. Someone took a chance hiring you, like anyone else, make it worth the chance they took.

Probably the quickest gcaptain job referral I’ve seen by a huge margin?? Only a few days, and right in your backyard???

Damn that was ridiculously fast, wasn’t that yesterday morning? Lol I know who to call if the GoM gets worse! I can cook too, I have one of dem fancy degrees from a kollege cookin’ skool

Congrats you have the opportunity to learn a lot there. Keep you head down and your ears and eyes open and you’ll be in good shape. Learn to anticipate what’s going on but at the same time don’t let any lines go until you’re told. Learn how to make the coffee first and then start cooking. Upgrade as soon as you can and then start working on your steering. Always be on time for crew change and watch, don’t make them come looking for you.

Most importantly stay off your phone unless you are off watch!!!

I wanna thank everyone very much for all the help got my 1st gig gonna do everything i can to upgrade to A.B. especially z-drive thanks a whole lot for all the help. Goodluck to everyone and stay safe

Hey I just encouraged you to talk to tugboatchief and not ask questions, that’s all. I take no credit, thank whoever hired you and tugboat chief (maybe  the same guy!)

You got a job Tony? Good for you, congrats.

So hows it going ? You getting the hang of it ? Remember, there will be no crying on tugboats.

Well yeah i was on for like 9 days and something happened with the other deckhand and the captain dropped us off at port and said im gonna call you when to comeback… he said 5 days but haven’t heard from him since and its been exactly 5 days… honestly my performance was pretty bad the first 9 days and idk if he wants me back on the boat… but i mean if i keep practicing im going to obviously get better. Plus anything the captain asked me to do i did and he was really breaking me in.

my dads the captain on the specialist

What???

You have kids we dont know about bro?
