It makes no difference because I lost the battle before it started when I decided that I wanted to be a 100% career oriented person. I probably would have tried to store it away from anything, but you are right, with vessels movement and everything there is really no safe place for it. I did not think of it like that. I will keep that in my mental notes encase I ever come across that problem.

Convenient to who? Someone who can’t go two to four weeks without having sex? I am sorry but that is not my problem. I have been around long enough to see what happens to women Mariners who marry in this industry, it seems all good at first, the guys milk it for what they can, I have seen women even pay the guy’s child support for him. Then eventually they leave for another woman who they end up supporting completely from the money they SAVED from being with the mariner woman. Then the mariner woman spent her best years with some selfish asswhole who was using her for both money AND sex.
And sorry, no I don’t think it’s convenient to bring a relationship with all its complexities into my workplace where I troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex equipment as it is! No, I don’t think it’s convenient to have nosy crew members try to pry and stir shit up for their own satisfaction. No, I don’t think it’s Convenient to have to constantly have to worry about what bs someone might say to my partner, weather it’s true or not, and have to deal with any type of relationship drama at work, where you can’t leave. No, I don’t think it’s convenient at all to bring my personal life into my work life where I go to make $$$$, and what is supposed to be a substantial amount of it, and where I hold a position that it took me 9 years to obtain on my own with no help from anyone else!!! Through literally blood AND sweat AND many hardships. And where I strive to be viewed as a professional and as an Engineer ONLY.
It might be a convenience to someone else who only cares about their DICK, but its definitely not a convenience to me!!
Someone bringing their housewife to come work with them as a cook so they can spend more time together is DIFFERENT than someone working their way up the ranks as an ENGINEER on their own,with NO ONE else’s help, who wants to be viewed ONLY as an engineer and doesn’t want to be bothered with the rest of the fucking shit!!!
