An OSV can never be properly ran with the minimum COI. 1 in the bridge and 1 in the ER is able to be done, but 1 guy rigging? What about if you’re doing deck cargo and pumping product? That’s where the extra crew comes in.
You want to talk about over pay? When this turns around (be it 2 years or 10 years) day rates will be through the roof! The horror stories I hear and what I saw, they’re going to have to pay just to get people down there. Either that or they’ll be paying out their rears due to accidents and injuries because fresh Academy licenses showing up. The word is out about the oil field and the experience that’s left will not be coming back.

I’m sorry but if I tell someone not to fucking touch me or to talk to me about a certain subject and they continue to do so, that’s harassment and they should be fired. In most Union related companies there is zero tolerance for that. It is not always enforced but the point is I have seen it enforced.
In the bayou, they get rid of the woman because she “wasn’t getting along”, and I have never seen it enforced. People continue to behave in anyway they want because they have no fear of retribution. That is a backwards and fucked up system.
