Off campus living

Howdy,

I’m currently looking at coming to SUNY and I had a question about my chances of off-campus living.
I’m currently a reservist in the USCG and I have been on active duty for over 2 years and will have closer to 3 years when I finish my orders. With this I will have 90-100% of the Montgomery GI bill and have a DD215 classifying me as a veteran. I’m 28 and married and I don’t think we could afford to pay for both dorms and an apartment while I go to school so I’m kind of sweating it pretty hard.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Evening Sir,

I recently just graduated from Fort Schuyler under grad, got my license, now I’m working. In order to fully understand what you want to do at Maritime ( get your license, masters, etc) that will determine exactly which direction as well as who to talk to about living situations.

You can most likely become a day student and live off campus. The commandant of cadets decides if can be a day student.

You will still have to attend indoctrination and formation every Tuesday.

Send me a pm and read my other posts. I can advise you further. I am ex uscg also.
