- USA: 14,3 t/yr/pers.
- China: 8,37 t/yr/pers.
- EU: 5,57 t/yr/pers.

- Kenya: 0.23 t/yr/pers.

Didn’t say I did just stating the facts. China and India increased industrialization with technological help from rich countries because it increased profits for US and other developed countries’ corporations. China and India with their national industrialization policies aided this and even improved on manufacturing. Apple was one of the first to modernize China’s processes.EU and other countries corporations followed. Couple that with increased emphasis on technical education in China as well as India and they can sell products at a lower cost to the average low wage earner in developed countries. For the corporations it’s a win and no, tariffs won’t fix it. They are too far ahead in education and technology. Also, multinational corporations depend on an integrated world. The era of one nation being an island unto itself is over.

I see New Zealand’s contribution on the graph. We produce and export enough food to feed 40 million people with 1st class protein (and wine). If my forebears back in the 1700’s had decided to become vegan I wouldn’t be here. No much future in it in northern England, Scotland and Norway.

As can be seen China is indeed the biggest total emitter, followed by USA.
The difference in population is 4.17x while the difference in emission per capita is 1.6X “in favour” of USA.
PS> For India the difference is even more striking (7.5x) and each Aussie emits more that 3 Brits.

The global boiling you are all so terrified of cares only about TOTAL CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. I don’t care because I (and the “science”) see more CO2 as an inherent good.
The atmosphere, not having a brain, can’t calculate emissions per capita and, furthermore isn’t vengeful, so doesn’t bother to inflict proportionate mayhem on the most profligate emitters.
We all know that without another graph or table of figures. So what’s it to be, China is the world’s biggest user of renewable energy (good China, keep it up), or China kills all of us by boiling the atmosphere with it’s record CO2 emissions (bad, evil China. Stop it!)?

I was aghast when I lived there that I had to put coins in the electricity meter to keep the lights on. Then the coal miners went on strike and all the lights went out. Coal miners were such good environmentalists that they smashed CO2 emissions to smithereens. You can find a coal miner mannequin or two in a museum exhibit now and people marvel at how backward Britain was to actually have electricity and steel mills and factories and jobs and stuff.

I guess the American per capita production of CO2 just skyrocketed. Maybe due to survivor’s guilt or something. All I know is the traffic where I live hasn’t gotten any better.

I find it very useful to demonstrate unequivocally, for example, that we don’t have equality before the law despite that being the black letter law, we don’t hold nations to the same standards in international forums despite that being the claim, and we don’t hold Trump and, say, Biden to the same scrutiny.
It’s a great tool. We all use it all the time. Essentially, it’s about fairness.
