Yes PSA is concerned that safety is slipping in the Norwegian Oil & Gas industry, both Offshore and Onshore. This is perceived as a result of cost cutting measures by the Operators and has been affecting not only Statoil.

Even if starting from a high level of safety and though high standard, this is a major concern, which is being addressed. The PSA’s main issue for 2017 is “Reversing the trend”.

Interesting website, thanks. Pretty firm language on safety issues too from the regulator.

Question is who has most ‘power’ or influence: them or the oil industry? I guess we know the answer…
