After a slight delay in completion (don’t ask) the NOBLE BULLY I was delivered by Keppel to its owners and left Singapore on the 2nd of September bound for the GoM.
(having technical picture problems…hope to fix it soon)
What makes her unique is that she is the first of 4 ships (NOBLE BULLY I & II and NOBLE GLOBETROTTER I & II) which are fitted with a Huisman Multipurpose tower instead of a conventional derrick. It’s actually a pretty cool concept, I hope it works.
Having reviewed the plans. This is 12 lbs of shit in a 8lb bag.
just one issue that is going be a headache. EMDs with no hatch to bring Powerpacks or Turbos in and out of the Engineroom.
Glad it’s not my headache -
I talked to a Sub sea Engineer from the Bully that said they are losing people on the Bully 1 as fast as they can find another job. Did one of the Captains really threaten to throw Shell off the Rig ?
I wonder what is going on over there? That sounds like a rumor it can’t be possible besides my experience with Shell personnel has always been great. As far as losing people with all the recent growth I have talked to guys at Pacific, Transocean, Noble, and Ensco. It sounds like everyone is chasing that dollar. There is a shortage of experienced personnel right now and with all the new-builds it’s party time in Singapore. After a years of being in the business I have noticed people quit people more than companies… good leadership can usually hold a good crew together. I just hope with all the personnel movement everyone continues to work safe. We cannot afford another incident.

No senor…no problema con Shell. They’re actually a pretty good bunch of guys and both co-men are top shelf. There still is a turnover problem tho at Noble that has slowed but hasn’t stopped. Running up against SSE personnel is going to become an issue when the ship starts working.
Right now need 2 third mates, 2 third engineers and 2 QMEDs if anybody would like to apply. PM for details.
