Yeah, me too. My subscriptions to information services would seem a dichotomy to many folks as I read everything from the Wall St Journal to the Guardian and lots more. I ignore the opinion pages except for purely entertainment purposes and I rarely watch broadcast news. The late George Carlin had a bit of wisdom about broadcast news. He remembered, as I do, when he was growing up the news came on daily at 6pm for 30 minutes of local news and 30 minutes of national news. Why? Because that is all the news there is ! Beyond that hour everything else is just BS.

I watch the news in the morning and when they return to whatever story was on when the TV first turned on, to me the important cycle is done and the TV gets turned off. Repeat in the afternoon.
Otherwise I feel like I am getting drawn into a soap opera.
