I’ve never gotten shore-side advice on TC avoidance, although I could get it if I asked… The only thing I’ve been asked is after the fact and it’s how much time/distance/fuel did avoidance cost.
As long as no damage / incidents and no more than minimum possible delay/added cost nobody shoreside wants to know how sausage is actually made.
