Does anybody know much about the MT30 Marine Gas Turbine?
Just that it’s the power plant for the Freedom class LCS’s and Zumwalt.
Really? Again with asking about US Naval ship systems? Next you’ll be asking about the TRS-4D air defense radar systems and their capabilities. I’d highly recommend NOT looking for that kind of info unless you want gentlemen in suits knocking on your door soon after.
There are no secrets about it. The system can be operated through a local touch screen providing control of the turbine and support systems. I see it also has its own fire protection system. One of the things that Rolls Royce is mentioning in there materials is the low maintenance cost. I have never worked on a turbine engine, just interested.
Here is a Rolls Royce Brochure.
Does anybody know how many rows of compressor blades the MT30 has? Before the compressed air reaches the diffuser section of the engine?

Here is an answer which cannot be wrong…more than zero and less than infinity
Besides we already know that you know how many because you are the Perfesser although I believe you are much more of a Gilligan!

Your record as the GoogleMeister just went down the toilet … there are plenty of cutaway drawings of that engine available online. After all it is nothing more than a derivative of a commonly used aircraft engine and there are no secrets about it.
About 99 percent of what you ask is available online without bothering people here, another 99 percent of what you post as “original” thought or information also comes from Google or other sites. We are not impressed.
Now go away, please, find some other place to play.

Since you seem to know very little about Gas Turbines. . . .http://www.rolls-royce.com/~/media/Files/R/Rolls-Royce/documents/customers/marine/rr-mt30-brochure-uk-2016.pdf
I just want keep learning cmakin - Thanks, I really like your sprint cars also. Major horsepower for such lite high bar chassis. I have never been to one of those races. Seems really kool.
I saw this article about the Rolls Royce EHM system. If anybody is interested.
Have any of you experienced the online training modules?

Good Lord! you’re just figuring this out?
let me give you some advice from a old grizzled veteran of the trenches…
fresh fish like you need to never ever be heard from. you can learn mountains just reading posts in this forum without risking the disdain of so many by continually opening your yap when you obviously are not an experienced seafarer. it is most simple…no?
oh well…better late than never

Speaking for myself, I don’t stand for misrepresentation and lying which you have done here. And you’ve continued to post crap even after being repeatedly asked to stop.

What they said. Post less and get out there and experience the real thing. You say that you haven’t been to a sprint car race? Well, then, by all means get to one. I have no idea how old you are, but you represent yourself as a Deep Sea Diver. Go to Dive School. Experience it. You talk about being interested in things maritime. Turn off the computer and get out there and experience it. Volunteer at a museum if you are too young. But to do internet searches and post info, well, you are wasting your time and ours. Putting up links is one thing (I do it from time to time), but putting up links in context with your experience and training is another. You have neither. I do have a bit more advice. Should you take it upon yourself to get more involved in the maritime industry, once on board, keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open.
Remember, many of us are kind of long in the tooth. Counting from the first day I stepped into the Academy, I have over 39 years of experience in the combined maritime and offshore industries and I also know I am one of the young ones.
It all goes back to the many weird postings that you make with links to internet sites and such that have little or nothing to do with current discussions on the board. I mean really what is your intent with all this?
