Unfortunately with the high need for 3M’s right now, they’ve starting taking on non-PIC 3M’s to sail in PIC positions. Makes it a little tougher on the other officers since we can’t let them stand cargo watch on their own, and need to have someone there to help them during basic operations. But I guess no better way to learn than being put right on the spot. Just wish the office was upfront with these guys, they’ve show up before thinking they would just be an extra while they get their PIC observer time.
