Another great week here at “A Chateau on the Bayou”!!!
House full of very nice guests from all over the world.
4 mariners checked in on Sunday.
Mariner #1 is here for 26 days going to school in the area.
I have been working with his company now for 5 years and they pay for him to stay here.
Mariner #2 and #3 both came down in search of work and both have gotten jobs as of yesterday.
One took an AB job and another got a training mate position, both with great companies.
They are extremely happy after traveling miles to get here.
Mariner #4 is here, again; he stayed here 2 weeks, ago, when he got hired as an AB with ECO.
He returned to take the orientation classes this week.
There are 27 people in his class, so ECO picked up quite a few people last week.
Another mariner flew in from Hawaii, yesterday, and went out in search of work today.
Another mariner flies in today in search of work, also.

This company contracts out riggers for many marine operators.
This weekend, here, at my B&B, I will have 4 tourists from France and 2 from Oregon and 2 mariners who will get to experience the Paddle Bayou Lafourche event in my back yard on Saturday.
There will be 150 people from around the world paddling Bayou Lafourche.
It’s a 4 day event starting today in Donaldsonville, going on to Thibodaux tomorrow, and here in Raceland on Saturday and ending in Lockport on Sunday.
Each year I have a big party cooking jambalaya in a big black pot, catering gumbo, fried chicken, etc. and hiring a band to play music as the paddlers pass by.
My party guests pass out pralines to all of the paddlers that stop by on my wharf.
It’s a really FUN event for everyone.
