how long does it take to get a ship when your just a c card entry level
An entry level C Card is not an easy way to start in the SIU. However if you stick it out long enough but it can be done. No one can really give and answer as to how long the wait can be. You can ask those in the hall to see how many get shipped. Hopefully they will be up front andnot blow you off. One of the issues is that the people in the Apprentice Program are given their first (entry level) job through that program and then come out as B books. Any job that come gets to C cards are ones no one else wants. Could be poor contract, bad ship (reputation), short job length or any number of reasons. When those opportunities come, grab them as you are looking for time to upgrade your endorsement and seniority. Money will be a secondary issue.
