Some were probably happy because the threat those dictators presented were gone but the tens of millions refugees that showed on the shores of Europe in the aftermath might of been far worse? If the Ayatollah has to go, I still hope its an iron gloved Iranian who sends him on his way. Gaddafi had Libya quite & in check for over 20 years until the CIA orchestrated that dumbass Arab Spring. I don’t want chaos for Iran, just stop supporting the Houthis, Hezbolla, Hamas & any other militias that wants death to Americans.

In the Gulf War the U.S. and its allies completely defeated Saddam Hussein’s army in less than a week.
He remained in power, as strong as ever, until we invaded years later.
Don’t assume missiles or military defeat will cause regime change.
If they did Putin would be in Kyiv right now.

Ukraine like Yugoslavia, nobody wants to invade but different ethnic groups who either divide themselves up or an external group of same clan helps either side.
Oh by the way Ukraine borders invented and different ethnic groups inside and one side got a large ally close by.
The number of those folks grows larger than arms shipments from USA to Israel.

Wild take. Trump bombs Israel and takes out their nuclear capabilities and Air Force. Trump also freezes all Israeli government assets. Then allows Middle Eastern countries to invade and establish a Palestinian State using frozen Israeli funds and their own oil money. Trump should do this in exchange for cheap oil. Make gas cheaper than water in the USA.
This plan makes us friends in the Middle East. Doesn’t lead to ww3 or any US soldiers on the ground. And allows the US economy to take off with record cheap energy.
Sounds like a win win !

Those Palestinian hospitals had a network of Hamas tunnels and command and control centers under them.
Hamas caused those bombing by using the hospitals as shields.
Big difference.

Also kidnapped victims from an invasion by the elected officials of Gaza which is Hamas. That same elected terrorist government that refused to set those kidnapped victims free. It amazes me that nearly zero people who support the people of Gaza will admit the fact they voted Hamas into power, celebrated the Oct 7th massacre & that the Government of Gaza is still holding hostages. They ignore the root cause of the war, the raped, murdered & kidnapped completely.

BTW; Not EVERY Palestinians voted for Hamas Hamas won the election in 2006 with 44.5% of the votes cast.
Of those who live on the Gaza strip today MOST were too young to vote in 2006, or not born yet. Of those who did vote, many would be dead by now.
Yet you want to blame ALL Palestinians for what Hamas did on 07.Aug.2023?
PS> Do that include the thousands of children killed and the babies that is effected by hunger and may be stunted, IF the live long enough to grown up?

The situation in Gaza is worse than horrible. If Israel wasn’t conducting a full on war against Hamas (which the Anti-Israel crowd is against) they’d have to do a complete occupation of Gaza & install a ruthless police action to rout out Hamas members selectively which the Anti-Israel crowd would be against as well. There’s no way for Israel to make their antisemites critics happy except by conducting a mass suicide erasing the Jewish people from the River to the Sea. So I think Israel will continue doing what they feel they must do, the best they can in these horrible circumstances.
I say horrible circumstances because the elected government of Gaza are some of the worse leaders to ever walk the planet imo. When Lincoln, Grant & Sherman beat the South in the US Civil War the South kept fighting. So the North went with a scorched Earth campaign that finally beat the populace into submission, causing even an evil slave owner government to give up to save as much of their community as possible. Crazy-ass Hitler committed suicide because he knew he had lost. His time was up & knew new leadership would be needed after the war. 2 Atomic Bombs were enough for Empirial Japan, then time to move on from warring to rebuilding. Smart Move. But not for the elected government of Gaza, they keep fighting, holding the hostages, watching their children die. Watching their homes & hospitals above their bunkers getting destroyed. From you @ombugge , the left & Democrats I’ve heard a lot of complaining about Israel & Netanyahu but I’ve never heard any complaints about Hamas not surrendering or letting the hostages go? If it were my children who were kidnapped, raped or murdered from that concert on Oct 7th I’d still be fighting until my family was brought home or the government who orchestrated was no longer a threat. Hamas hasn’t surrendered yet, they are still a threat imo.

IMO, the root cause of the suffering in Gaza is misogyny & the misogynistic culture of the Arab Middle-East & in the Muslim religion. When I’m about to make a stupid decision or too stubborn my wife is here to talk it out with me. Same for her, she bounces most of her ideas off of me & vise-versa. Our discussions/arguments never get too heated & never physical. Now if I were a Hamas political leader she would’ve slit my throat while I was sleeping by now. It’s hard for me to believe a bunch of mothers & grandmothers could watch what was happening in Gaza without surrendering. It was sickening to me when I read/heard many of the kidnapped victims were/are being held by Arab families in Gaza. I don’t think such action are the natural instincts for mothers & grandmothers. Too bad for the Palestinians they are such misogynistics. It’s getting them all killed imo.

Do what you want. I’ll zoom through the 197 comments on this & 1 other thread about Gaza & see if I can find a comment from you, ombugge, tengineer1, steamer etc suggestion Hamas should surrender & let the hostages go. I’ll quote it if I find one.
Edited: I 1st read though the 40 comments from the thread on Gretas sailboat. Then I put “Gaza” in the search function & then read the top 2 threads. Nada concerning comments from the left saying Hamas should surrender & let the hostages go. Only antisemitic rhetoric on how horrible Israel is. If I didn’t know better, I’d say there’s more than a couple commenters here who support Hamas in their war against Israel. Why only want Israel to stop fighting but not Hamas?
