I agree, have never claimed to be a geopolitical expert, or an expert of neither Norwegian nor US politics. That doesn’t mean I haven’t got an opinion on either.
If only “experts” were allowed to have opinions, the world would be a quiet and peaceful place,

Richard Wolff is a Marxist Capitalist which though that may seem a contradiction in terms it isn’t. He does however have a simplistic view of how nations interact socially and economically. What is lost to the current US administration is the US only has about 4-5% of the world’s population so it is wise to try to get along with the other 95% without giving up core values. Nations need non-military alliances and trust. The US has had this for 80 years. Soft power results in more economic and political stability returns than any amount of military power. The current administration is flushing the soft power [trust] down the toilet and not just with the tariffs. He could drop all tariffs tomorrow but it will be a long time before trust and stability returns. Trust and stability is what powers countries and economies. The bond market makes the stock market look like an infant, watch the bond market to see how this all works out.
I know who Prof Wolff is as I follow 2 utube channels , namely " Democracy at work" & “Democracy now” . Not all the contents of course but some of it .
I do not consider myself competent to discuss if his view is simplified or not . He was a schoolmate/student in the same institution as US Treasury Secretary Madam Janet Yellen.
However I am looking forward to your debate with Him on some of the issues He touched upon in the video clip and his others . Could be interesting
