Hello,
So ive managed to find out that a Chinese Crew to sail from China to the US will cost about 3000$ a day? But I wasn
t able to find out the number of ship crew members. If I were to hire a US crew how much would that cost per day and how many crew members would you need (I know they aren`t all paid the same i just need the crew number and what is the US Wage in general for people in shipping)
Also, to make things here more easily do I just multiply the Chinese wages with 6x? As the wages there are 6x less than in the US? Would that do the trick?
Thank you very much
Have a great day
For a U.S. crew on 20, which is an approximate guess of a comparable ship you would be looking on the order of $11,100 per day. The true cost to the company is at least 25% more due to taxes.
Someone else can clean those numbers up a bit.

As a rule of thumb, I figure that the total employee cost after taxes, and benefits is double the day rate.
If trying to make a reasonable profit (for example on a one off trip), I need to bill out crewmen at four times the day rate. Wages 100% benefits taxes and insurance 100%, overhead 100%, and profit 100%, total 400% (four times) mark up on the day rate.
